FAQs

Are your courses approved by the Indiana BMV?

Yes! All of our driver safety programs are officially approved by the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV), so you can be confident that completing a course with us will satisfy BMV requirements.

I received a notice from the BMV requiring me to complete a driver safety program. What should I do?

If the BMV has notified you that you must complete a Driver Safety Program (DSP), it’s important to act promptly to avoid penalties, such as license suspension. You’ll need to enroll in a BMV-approved program like ours and finish it before your deadline. Completing your course in plenty of time ensures the BMV updates your record correctly.

Will my county or court accept your courses?

Yes! Our programs are recognized and accepted by all counties, courts, and cities across Indiana.

Which course should I choose?

We offer multiple options tailored to different types of drivers:
Basic Course: Suitable for most drivers looking to satisfy a DSP requirement.
Teen Course: Designed specifically for drivers under 21.
Mature Driver Course: Created for drivers age 55 and older.
Truck Course: Ideal for those holding a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).

It’s always a good idea to check with your court if your DSP requirement specifies a particular course.

What’s the difference between the Online Course and the DVD/Video Course?

Both options meet the DSP requirement and are BMV-approved. The Online Course ($34.99) is interactive, including games, quizzes, and slideshows to help reinforce learning. The DVD/Video Course ($44.99) is fully video-based, covering the same material in a more visual format.

Your choice depends on your preferred learning style: interactive versus visual. Either way, our courses are designed to make the process simple and engaging.

Who should take a Driver Safety Program?

Drivers usually complete a DSP for one of the following reasons:
You received a BMV notice requiring a DSP.
Your court mandated a DSP as part of a traffic resolution.
You want to voluntarily earn a 4-point credit on your driving record.

Note: A DSP can only provide a 4-point credit once every three years, whether required or voluntary.

Why might I be required to take a DSP?

You might be asked to complete a program if:
You committed two or more traffic offenses within a 12-month period.
A judge or court ordered it as an alternative to suspension.
You are under 21 and have multiple traffic convictions.

What are the benefits of completing a DSP?

Beyond meeting court or BMV requirements and earning a 4-point credit, a DSP helps you become a safer, more knowledgeable driver. You’ll refresh your understanding of traffic laws, defensive driving techniques, and even new regulations that may have been introduced since you first got your license. Stronger driving skills can help you prevent future violations and stay confident behind the wheel.

How does your Indiana Driver Safety Program work?

Register for the Course
Sign up in minutes by providing your contact information and creating a username and password. Use your login to access the course as often as you like—unlimited logins are included.

Complete Lessons and Quizzes
The Basic DSP consists of 10 lessons, each with quizzes, and takes approximately 4 hours to complete. The course includes timers to ensure adequate engagement, but you can complete it at your own pace—bit by bit or in one sitting. You’ll answer personal validation questions throughout to verify your identity and must score at least 80% on quizzes and the final exam to pass. Unlimited attempts are included at no extra cost.

Receive Your Certificate
After successfully finishing the program, a Certificate of Completion is emailed to you. You can also print a copy from your account. We report completions to the BMV within 24 hours Monday–Thursday or the next business day if completed Friday–Sunday. If your course is court-mandated, you must deliver your certificate to the court.

How long will the course take?

Each DSP is 4 hours long, per BMV requirements. You can log in and out as often as needed, and your progress will be saved so you can resume where you left off.

What if I don’t pass a quiz?

No worries! You can retake any lesson quiz as many times as needed until you achieve a passing score.

What if the BMV doesn’t show my completion?

Sometimes, the BMV might not immediately reflect your completion if you have more than one DSP requirement. Check with them if you encounter this, as we can help clarify the process.
